A new direction

As we embark on a new year I am starting to feel that urge to do something new.  New year, new me … no just kidding!

My feet are itching like mad to jump on a plane and go wandering but I am trying to listen to that good ol’ saying ‘good things come to those who wait’.

We must stop, save money and plan our next adventure.  And although I hate to admit it I am quite enjoying our ‘break’ from travelling.  Full time travel is exhausting and draining on both mind and body.  Right now we are in a comfortable place.  We live in a house, sleep in our own bed every night and have a steady income.  There is peace in normality.

With all that being said, I am missing something (well a lot of things actually; my wonderful family, gossiping with friends, the smell of the Guernsey ocean) but right now I sincerely miss writing.  Without travelling I have nothing to write about on this ‘travel blog’.  The process of blogging is like therapy for me.  Without having mum, dad, girl friends by my side to talk to about random things in life it is nice to put pen to paper (well, fingers to keyboard) and get my thoughts out.  And if there is someone out there mad enough to read it then even better.

This year I will be expanding my blog to … let’s call it ‘lifestyle’.  A category for everything outside of travelling that I want to share with you.  This could be anything from great books I have read down to DIY projects and beauty.

Interestingly, the biggest hit on À la perchoine last year was ‘Top 10 beauty saviours whilst travelling’ so I am anticipating that you will enjoy more posts beyond just travel.

Thank you for all your support in 2015 with the launch of this blog and a year of following my ramblings and I hope you enjoy the new direction.

À la perchoine, Jodie

Hi Jodie. Love reading what you’re up to! Have u tried/heard of Sunescape? It’s an Australian tanning range which is 100% natural and we also sell it at our salon. I wandered how well known it is over there? Makes your skin look, feel and smell amazing!

I guess I must be one of the mad ones, then Jo, cos I really enjoy reading your blogs! You write descriptive blogs, they are entertaining and you give the impression that you are having a great time together. Keep up the good work and any beauty tips to help me regain my youthful looks, will be gratefully received. So, get writing girl!!! Keep safe and have a good 2016. Love, Ali xxx
